PANIC! ...NOW! MAYBE... NOT YET?

Artist's Comments
Horrified is one of the fine examples of what I plan on doing with my career. The image is about a woman who awakens to reality and finds that she is confronted with what we can not see.
The story takes place in a mansion about a woman of high stature walking down the corridor when all the sudden the space around her is bending into a three sixty degree view. While this is happening she sees something that startles her. I may have spent over a hundred hours to make this painting. I had paid a lot attention to the bricks texture and the figure. I had to make many corrections on the painting. Among them is the perspective it self. The image used the laws of curvilinear perspective. The figure was also a little difficult to make. She was in a space that is curving and she needed to do the same. Comments
wow awesomeness ^^

Critiques
The curves of the arches draw your eye into the character and you begin to wonder what exactly she is doing or seeing.
The woman however does not appear to be as horrified as the title would suggest and without reading your interpretation of the painting I would at first think she was perhaps dancing. Usually when someone is taken aback or horrified by something they do not have a closed mouth. It does not need to be gaping open but even slightly open would suggest a gasp or reaction of some sort. She does however appear to be wide eyed which does help portray the horrified idea.
The bending of space is difficult to portray with many mediums. You have gotten the idea across with the background however I feel the woman should be a little more distorted as well though I couldnt begin to explain how
Overall its well painted with great attention to detail and lighting but without reading the story it may be difficult to determe if she is horrified. However this observation is based on the uploaded deviation and not knowing the dimensions or being able to see the actual painting.
The textures use to figure the wood as interesting as well as the play on perspective, creating a feeling of hallucination.
The contrast in the color is creating a dramatic scene, which could be an illustration for a horror novel.
Detail to imrpove : the hand in the first ground, because of its color, is not emphazised enough. The neck of chararected is very straigh (maybe in purpose ?), not flexible like in reality.
Hoping my critique to be helpfull and inspiring
I have to write a few words more so I will conclude by inciting you to criticize my own work and especially my last 3 pieces which are un totally different purpose than you drawing as they aim to suggest love, happiness, and protection.
Cheers
Julie
